2003-04 Racers 79, 1998-99 Racers 75

Kelvin Brown scored 28 points but it was Rick Jones' only basket that made the difference,
as the 2003-04 Racers beat the 1998-99 team 79-75.

In a game that featured 25 lead changes, the 1998-99 team took a 75-74 lead when Rod Murray
hit one of two free throws with 1:02 left. But the 2003-04 squad worked the clock with Cuthbert
Victor finding Jones open on the wing beyond the 3-point arc as the shot clock was winding down.
Jones connected for the three for a 77-75 lead with 27.1 seconds left.

The 1998-99 team had time for at least a tying shot but Duane Virgil lost the ball in
the paint with six seconds left, and Kevin Paschel took the run-out all the way for a layup
as time expired.

The contest was close throughout with neither squad gaining more than a five-point advantage.

Brown hit 12 of 17 shots from the floor and grabbed seven rebounds for the 2003-04 team.
Antione Whelchel added 11 points and Cuthbert Victor 10, as each had seven boards.

Virgil led the 1998-99 team with 22 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Isaac Spencer
had 19 points.

The 2003-04 team will play the 1982-83 team in the semifinals.
