1982-83 Racers 87, 1994-95 Racers 86

The 1982-83 Racers withstood the 1994-95 team's last-minute rally, holding on
for an 87-86 victory.

The 1982-83 team led by as much as 13 points in the second half and was up 87-77 on
Ricky Hood's putback with 1:11 left in the game. But Vincent Rainey answered with a
three and, after a defensive stop, William Moore popped in another trey to cut the
lead to 87-83 with 27.6 seconds left. The 1982-83 team's Brian Stewart found himself
alone under the basket as time was running down and inexplicably fired up a shot, only to miss,
and Sammy Curran missed a tip-in with six seconds left. Rainey grabbed the rebound and fired up
a shot from just inside midcourt for a three at the buzzer, the 1994-95 team coming up
a point short.

Lamont Sleets led the 1982-83 team with 23 points, hitting 8 of 11 shots from the field.
Glen Green added 19 points, Ricky Hood 17 and Curran 11. Hood grabbed a game-high 12
rebounds as 1982-83 dominated the boards 37-22.

Rainey led the 1994-95 squad with 23 points, and Moore chipped in 21 with eight assists.
Marcus Brown, hampered by early foul trouble, scored 12, hitting 5 of 6 field goals.
